Maybe I was always destined to open a bike workshop. Cycling and bikes run in my family – in fact, it feels like they run through my veins – my dad was a keen touring cyclist, and my great-grandad had his own bike workshop just five minutes down the road.
I’ve always found bicycles and machines fascinating, so while at university it made sense to earn some extra money working in a bike shop. After graduating, I worked in a few different workshops, all the time happy to get my hands dirty and learn more about the complexities of life on two wheels.
In 2013, I decided to take it up a gear and open my own independent workshop at a small unit in Easton. And that’s when Holy Spokes was born.
Now we’ve moved to a bigger site in Barton Hill and employ an ever-growing team of specialists busy working on a whole range of bikes, eBikes and cargo bikes. We even look after entire fleets, offering a sustainable on-road recovery service from our electric van. And on top of earning praise from our long list of loyal customers, it’s great that some of the big names in bikes like VanMoof, Bosch and Knaap recognise us as one of their certified workshops.
